Right at the end of the campaign of the 2024 elections, Prime Minister of Bhaarat Shri Narendra Modi has decided to observe a maun vrat.
This is a brilliant tactic, and most likely driven by sound Jyotish input. Let me explain why.

The applicable Vimshottari dasha variant for India is Utpanna Tāra as Chandra (Moon) is in the Third Bhāva. India's is running Mercury Mahadasha and Mercury Antara. With the Lagna being Vrishabh, this makes Buddha (Mercury) lord of fifth bhāva. Fifth is Eighth to 10. Which means a transformation in India's ruler is possible. This can also mean a transformation in running style. Mercury in third makes it sixth to the tenth. This can trigger a loss of ruler. With Me involved, arguments in court could be a possible route.
So there is a serious risk of change of ruler.
I also say that this is a rather basic analysis, but I've been taught that everything is important. Even though a lot of other factors need to be considered for predicting a national election, in Astrology nothing cancels out. And it seems as though the PM's astrologer also thinks so. A maun vrat amongst other things takes tamas out of Mercury - the Kāraka for speech, cleansing it and turning it beneficial.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, a day ruled by Mercury, again impacting it and making compounded effect stronger.
By doing this the PM has given us another solid example of him applying Astrology, and also shown us that he covers all the bases.
